Before joining PACET, Dr. R.K. Suresh was working as Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Vice Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita University (www.amrita.edu), Coimbatore for about 13 years. He has 25 years of professional experience and taught variety of courses like Computer Assisted Production Scheduling, Design for Manufacture and Assembly, Simulation Modeling of Manufacturing Systems, etc., Besides academic work, he has played active role in curriculum development for UG and PG programmes coordinator of research and staff recruitment activities of Amrita University.

He has served as the Chairman of Quality Assurance Team of Amrita University and headed 13 colleges under the University to prepare for the Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC. He was awarded Best Teacher Award by the management of Amrita School of Engineering for rendering exemplary service with devotion and dedication in the development of the institution. Prior to joining Amrita, he has served in polytechnic colleges for about 8 years.

Dr. Suresh has served as Expert Committee Member in Anna University Inspection Team for grant of approval and affiliation. He is a member of Board of Studies in several Universities and Autonomous Colleges including Anna University, Adhiyaman College of Autonomous Colleges such as PSG Polytechnic College and PAC Ramasamy Raja Polytechnic College.

He has served as the Member, National Executive Council, ISTE, and New Delhi for during 2003 - 2008l Council Member and Joint Secretary of IE (I) Coimbatore during 2003 - 2006; Secretary of ISTE Chapter of Amrita School of Engineering and Sree Narayanaguru Institute of Technology. He is presently EC Member of ISTE, New Delhi and member of International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (http://www.terry.uga.edu/direct/India). Dr. Suresh is known for his accreditation consultancy for Higher Educational Institutions preparing for NBA and NAA accreditation.

Dr. Suresh has organized over 20 training programmes and 6 conferences in the area of Manufacturing and Management. Through organizing the First ISTE Regional conference on "Autonomous Technical Institutions" and the School ISTE Regional conference on "Quality Assurance in Higher Educational Institutions," he has the credibility of working as catalytic agent for the growth of Technical Education in the State. Reputed thinkers, academic administrators, former and present policy makers, leading technocrats and renowned academicians have participated in these two conferences.

Dr. Suresh has authored six book publications in the area of Manufacturing and Quality and he has more than 25 research organized by IEEE and IME in Singapore, Dhaka, Shanghai, etc., In addition, he has served as International Program Committee Member, IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, 2007 and 2008 and served as Session Chair in International Conferences organized by IEEE. He is presently a reviewer for several International Journals including IJAMT, IEEE-TEC, IJPE, etc., He made entry in Who's Who 2003 of ABI's reference book. Apart from teaching, research and consultancy, he is the founder NSS Programme Officer and Coordinator of YRC, Amrita University, Coimbatore.

At present, Dr. Suresh is the Chairman of Indian Society for Technical Education (Tamilnadu and Pondicherry State.)
